This ranking is based on extensive benchmarking carried out by Opportunity Now, the gender equality campaign for Business In The Community (BITC), during Responsible Business Week.
Companies that have achieved this status have demonstrated that gender equality is at the core of their business strategy, for KPMG this could not be more apparent. The three year diversity and inclusion targets which were launched in 2014, which included statistics on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disability, highlighted plans to raise the overall proportion of women reaching partner status. The strategy behind this focusses on recruitment, promotion and retention and centres on the ethos of “one firm”.
KPMG Vice Chair, Melanie Richards said: “Diversity and inclusion is high on our clients' boardroom agendas and an important societal issue which we have a responsibility to address. Being awarded prestigious titles such as the above will help us to attract and retain the most talented individuals in a rapidly changing society, and we are honoured to be ranked alongside other likeminded companies who are striving to change the business environment for the better.”
Kathryn Nawrockyi, Opportunity Now Director, Business in the Community, said: “Congratulations to KPMG on being included in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2015. They have recognised that putting inclusive behaviours at the core of what they do and making gender equality a business priority not only benefits the women they employ, but also the organisation as a whole and the clients, customers and communities they serve. Their dedication and commitment to driving change should educate and inspire other employers to make a difference, whatever their size or sector.”
