KPMG announces plans for a new apprenticeship programme

The programme, KPMG360°, will recruit and develop the next generation of rounded business advisors from a wide variety of backgrounds, using the Government’s Trailblazer Apprenticeship Standards. KPMG360° will offer school and college leavers a full time role with practical experience, a competitive salary and the opportunity to work towards professional qualifications.

To assist young people entering the workforce for the first time, the programme will offer apprentices a variety of routes to careers within different parts of KPMG.

With an initial offering of 110 places nationally, KPMG360° will launch in September 2015 in the Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, London and Manchester offices. This programme has been developed to offer industry leading qualifications recognised by the Government’s Accounting / Taxation Technician and Professional Accountant Trailblazer Standards.

Speaking at the event David Gauke, Financial Secretary to the Treasury said:  “I am delighted to be here today for the launch of KPMG’s new apprenticeship scheme.  Apprenticeships are extremely valuable for young people from all backgrounds to gain entry to professions they are passionate about without having to go down the university route.  Apprenticeships should be viewed on a par with academic routes, and this scheme is a decisive step towards that.”

Minimum academic entry requirements for KPMG360° is set at A Level grades BCC (or equivalent), 5 GCSE’s Grades A-C, including English and Maths (or equivalent). To apply for the programme please visit:

About KPMG360°

Candidates will be offered a full time role within KPMG from day one and may opt to follow the programme for between three to six years, depending on the career path the individual chooses.  The programme offers a foundation year with rotations through Audit, Tax, Advisory and Technology. In years two and three, Candidates will study towards a Technician Level qualification while gaining further experience across a variety of areas of KPMG. During this time, the Candidate will have the opportunity to discover where their future interest and potential exist within the firm. Finally in year’s three to six, Candidates will specialise in either Audit, Tax, Advisory or Technology and study towards a Professional Level qualification, which includes many of the Chartered qualifications currently offered to graduate trainees. Candidates who do not progress to the Professional Level will be offered opportunities to continue their employment in a technician role.   On completion of the Professional Level, Candidates would be eligible for promotion to Assistant Manager, in line with graduate trainees.
