Paul Flint and Brian Green from KPMG’s Restructuring practice were appointed joint administrators to Screensafe UK Limited, Trimega Laboratories Limited and Ingemino Testing Services Limited on 7th April 2014.
Stafford-based Screensafe UK Limited provides drug and alcohol testing services to the workplace market. Immediately following their appointment, the joint administrators sold the business and certain assets to Synergy Health Laboratory Services Limited. A total of 16 employees have transferred over to the new owner as part of the sale.
Trimega Laboratories Limited, which operates out of Blackley, Greater Manchester, provides legally defensible testing that supports critical decisions in child protection cases, offering services such as hair drug, alcohol and steroid testing, along with DNA relationship testing services. Ingemino Testing Services Limited – also based in Blackley - operated as the laboratory company where primarily the Screensafe and Trimega testing was conducted.
Commenting on the appointment, Paul Flint, associate partner at KPMG and joint administrator said: “The paternity testing market has declined as a result of recent changes to the legal aid system. Despite marketing the Trimega Laboratories and Ingemino Testing Services business as going concerns prior to our appointment, a buyer could not be found and unfortunately, a total of 49 redundancies have been made across these two businesses in Blackley.”
Any companies who are interested in acquiring the assets of the two businesses are urged to contact the administrators at KPMG.
