In July 2016 Portsmouth hosted its second Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series event (ACWS). Land Rover BAR and TEAMORIGIN Events commissioned KPMG to conduct an impact assessment of the scale and nature of the economic impact of the 2016 event in the Portsmouth area - as well as the UK as a whole. This follows on from KPMG’s study of the first event in 2015.

Both reports also evaluated the economic impact of Land Rover BAR, Britain’s team for the 2017 America’s Cup, on the UK. Our analysis assessed the economic impact it has on the local area in each year (2015 and 2016) through the people it employ and the suppliers it works with, as well as the spillover effects generated from its activity.
