KPMG is proud to be part of the ‘Consulting Excellence’ scheme launched in July 2016 by the Management Consultancies’ Association (MCA).

‘Consulting Excellence’ marks a change in the global consulting industry, introducing a new ‘hallmark of quality’ for consulting firms Consulting Excellence celebrates consulting’s value and commits participants to the highest standards of ethical behaviour, client service and professionalism. It also emphasises the value of a career in consulting for the thousands of professionals who work in the industry.

  • We have a Responsible Business Leadership Committee (RBLC) which meets quarterly to ensure we are robust, transparent and accountable in everything we do
  •  Our Ethics and independence policies are reinforced through an annual training programme
  • The Board has established an Ethics Committee to provide oversight of all matters concerning the firm’s ethical conduct.

Client service and value

  • Our Client Council oversees an extensive work programme to help improve the breadth and quality of our client relationships and the client relationship building skills of our people. We have a comprehensive client engagement programme that asks for feedback at every stage. This is transforming the way we interact with our clients by putting their voice at the heart of our service delivery
  • In 2015, we spent circa £27 million to develop our colleagues and equip them with the professional, technical and business skills needed to help us achieve our ambition to be a market-focused, issues-led business.

Professional development

1. We undertake training and professional development planning each year

2. We promote strong core consulting capabilities and specialisms in our consultants and teams

3. We support our employees’ career progression, professional development and welfare.

  • To develop technical and business skills, we ran over 6,000 individual courses in 2015, totalling almost 480,000 hours of training
  • Operating the BRIGHT cross-border pro bono programme has enabled our people to use their professional skills to either support their local communities or the global UN Millennium Development Goals
  • We are very focused on diversity and inclusion including promoting women into the partnership. We are also founding members of the 30% Club and Access Accountancy.
