A round up of other news this week.
On 24 June 2016, HMRC published guidance for large businesses on publishing their tax strategies. This is an abbreviated version of the draft guidance HMRC have shared previously (which has been prepared to conform with GOV.uk style guidelines) and no new information has been included. A more technical manual style set of guidance is expected to be published later in the year. KPMG in the UK have prepared a two page note which summarises the key requirements and areas to consider in relation to the new requirement for large business to publish tax strategies.
The UK-United Arab Emirates (UAE) Double Taxation Convention has been published. It was signed on 12 April 2016 but is not yet in force.
The UK-Uruguay Double Taxation Convention has been published. It was signed on 26 February 2016 but is not yet in force.
