  • The total volume of tobacco consumption fell by 0.9% (annualised) when compared to the twelve months to June 2015
  • Illicit tobacco consumption declined marginally to 14.0% of total consumption in the twelve months to December 2015
  • The overall decline was driven by an decrease in unbranded (“Chop Chop”) tobacco
  • The decline in illicit tobacco consumption was partially offset by a rise in contraband consumption
