This survey looks at why, for UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space businesses, it is critical that the UK has a strong relationship and voice in Europe. It looks at how the sectors currently operate within the EU and the benefits and challenges it presents.

Key highlights include

  • 73 percent of the respondents believed that membership of the EU currently had a positive impact on their business
  • 86 percent of respondents believe it would be better for their business for the UK to remain part of the EU
  • 92 percent of foreign owned members believe it is better for the UK to remain in the EU

The conclusion drawn is that, while there is a clear call for a change in how the UK interacts with the EU, continued membership is seen by those interviewed and surveyed as important, for the current and long-term success of UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space.

Civil aerospace continues to be robust with suppliers seeing increased activity, the challenge is having resources to capitalise on opportunities.
