How do we re-imagine the way institutions deliver their services?

How do we re-imagine the way institutions deliver their services?

Both Brexit and the Industrial Strategy highlight the need to develop the skills that the UK economy requires. To close the productivity gap, we must re-skill the workforce, and increase social mobility.

KPMG’s Education, Skills and Productivity group concentrates on the increasing links between education providers, apprenticeships and the learning and skills required by specific employers or local areas.

Last year we helped over 120 UK universities, 50 colleges and 40 schools in the public and private sectors. We worked closely with local and central government on their skills, devolution and productivity agenda.

Many of our diverse team at KPMG have backgrounds in the education sector, including providers and regulatory bodies. We have strong links with education teams in other KPMG practices (including US, Australia, India and China). We work closely with KPMG’s Learning and Development team. Our clients benefit from our broad perspective and in-depth understanding.

Examples of our work include:

  • Developing the IT blueprint for the launch of a new further education college and managing its implementation.
  • Leading a consortium on behalf of Civil Service Learning to develop the new core curriculum offer available to 400,000 UK Civil Servants and delivering this learning across the UK.
  • Over the past 15 years, improving the organisational models and efficiency of university clients to provide significant return on investment. The current focus is on achieving long-term operational and financial sustainability whilst improving how they interact with their students, academics, staff and communities.
  • Leading a consortium which works with the NHS Leadership Academy to design and deliver leadership programmes, reaching over 3000 NHS senior leaders to date.
