KPMG in the UK
David has over 21 years of audit and advisory experience with KPMG. He currently serves as a Partner in KPMG’s Asset Management practice and leads the Regulatory, Risk and Assurance services team.
David specializes in providing advice on a board range of issues covering on Governance, Risk Management, Internal Controls and Assurance for investment management firms.
Over the past 15 years, he has advised over 40 financial services firms on their internal controls assurance reports, including investment managers, hedge fund managers, transfer agents, custodians, asset servicing, pension administration and index administration clients. David chairs KPMG’s technical group for assurance reporting engagements and has represented KPMG on the ICAEW’s AAF Working Party since its inception in 2005. David has worked with clients on Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) since 2001. He has helped a number of firms implement GIPS for the first time and he is currently the UK signing partner for GIPS engagements.
David leads KPMG’s services in relation to governance, risk management and ICAAP. His clients in this space include investment managers, wealth managers, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds. He is the author of KPMG’s annual risk and ICAAP benchmarking survey and has significant experience of helping firms to establish effective risk management frameworks, prepare for regulatory visits and respond to regulators on prudential capital matters. He is currently helping our asset management clients understand the implications of the proposed Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
In addition, David is the global leader of KPMG’s Operational Due Diligence service offering, working for a number of clients including fund distributors and fund of fund managers.
With this experience, David has led, or been involved as a subject matter expert, on a number of FCA s166 Skilled Person reviews covering a range of issues including governance, unauthorized trading and trading errors.
