Ian Warman



Ian leads KPMG's Pensions practice in the North East and has over 20 years actuarial and pensions consulting experience. Ian joined KPMG as a Partner in 2007 from Hewitt, where he led their corporate pensions advisory business in the regions and was head of their Leeds office. Ian advises both plan sponsors and trustees on a wide range of issues, including: • Strategic advice on aligning business and pensions objectives • advice on pension aspects of corporate transactions and restructuring, including cost and risk analysis, impacts of deal structuring, negotiations between sponsors and trustees and post deal value opportunities • financing and cost optimisation including through funding valuations, alternative funding structures and negotiations between sponsors and trustees • pensions risk management opportunities and implementation • liability management programmes to manage the cost and risk associated with legacy pension liabilities • future benefit strategies to manage risk and costs • governance strategy and best practice implementation
