Donald heads up KPMG’s Pension and wider People Services practice in Scotland. His expertise lies mainly in advising corporates on how to deal with the obstacles that pensions can represent with regard to transactions, refinancing, cost and risk reduction and wider business activity generally. Donald was at the forefront of the recent resurgence in the buyout market. He advised on two of the earliest deals that took place. He joined KPMG in June 2008 from PwC where he led their Scottish Pensions practice, focusing on pensions advice to corporates. Donald was a Partner at Hymans Robertson from 1998 to 2005. During this time he advised both trustees and corporates on pension issues. He is a regular commentator in the media and is a past Chair of the Faculty of Actuaries Pensions Research Group.
