KPMG in the UK

David has over 30 years of cyber and information security expertise and is recognised as one the UK’s experts in this area. He leads on strategy for the KPMG cyber team, oversees KPMG’s cyber defence services, and champions the development of new technical services for KPMG in the UK and globally. David works with a wide range of clients including major banks and insurers, pharma and critical infrastructure providers to deal with the most demanding cyber threats from espionage and organised crime. He is a special adviser to the Scottish Government on cyber security matters, as well as a fellow of the British Computer Society. Prior to joining KPMG, David was the Head of Cyber and Space for the Ministry of Defence in the UK; supporting Ministers on policy matters, engaging with key international allies, leading and delivering the Defence Cyber Security Programme. He has also held a range of senior MOD science, information technology and procurement roles. During his career, David set up MOD’s first penetration testing team, ran the first ever UK-US cyber wargame, and carried out the first national infrastructure cyber security review. David was awarded an OBE for his services to national security post 9-11.
