KPMG in the UK

Joining KPMG in 1998, Tim is a chartered accountant and leads KPMG’s Local Government audit team nationally and their Public Sector practice in the North of England.

With a background in audit, Tim is currently engagement lead on a wide number of internal and external audit clients across Local Authorities, Higher Education Institutions, NHS Foundation Trusts, Acute and Mental Health Trusts and NHS Commissioners.

Working across the public sector, Tim is involved with, and leads, a number of assurance and advisory assignments, with his current focus being on supporting the development of Combined Authorities, helping public sector organisations understand and take advantage of the freedoms associated with devolution, such as the establishment of data-sharing bodies and wider reforms.

Recently, Tim has fulfilled a year-long secondment to Westminster where he acted as the Commercial Director to one of the major political parties. During this time Tim oversaw the restructuring and development of all the party’s commercial and income generation processes. Tim is now using this commercial acumen to support public and private sector organisations as they look to develop their commercial strategies.
