Michael joined KPMG in 2009 to develop an insurance sector risk management advisory team. He has over 20 years financial services experience in which he has delivered complex business and regulatory driven risk management change and also spent time as the Chief Risk Officer of a large UK insurer.
He has deep expertise across risk and capital management and, as a consultant, has advised UK, US and European firms on their risk and capital management arrangements.
He has actively led the debate across the industry on Solvency II and is an expert in Pillar 2 (risk management and governance).
Michael has advised a number of Board, more broadly, on market trends and best practice for risk management.
He also chairs KPMG’s Insurance Chief Risk Officer Forum. In 2016, Michael became KPMG’s Head of General Insurance with a focus on maintaining strong KPMG relationships across the sector.
