Richard joined KPMG in the UK in 1999. Prior to KPMG Richard studied and worked in the financial planning sector in the USA.

Richard helps his clients maximise the value from their defined contribution (DC) pension arrangements. This includes ongoing governance requirements, contribution and scheme benefit design, provider procurement, member engagement, rationalisation exercises, wider workplace savings design, compliance and cost mitigation.

The DC team advises schemes of all sizes and sectors, covering all types of DC structures, including some of the biggest schemes in the UK; and many high profile change projects.

Richard has a breadth of experience in technical and non technical delivery across a variety of sectors and industries. Examples of client projects include:

  • Global technology firm - advisory services to the pension scheme trustees covering ongoing legislative duties, scheme health-checks, Value for Member assessments and long term scheme management/ strategy.
  • FTSE 100 utility firm – complex scheme change exercise, significant member communication programme, procurement, design and implementation of a new DC structure, ongoing governance advisory role and advice around auto-enrolment compliance.
  • Global trading exchange - pension scheme rationalisation, new scheme procurement, scheme design, implementation, trustee advice around a buy-out transaction, asset transition and trust wind-up in line with legislative requirements.
