James joined KPMG in 2013 in the Midlands Transfer Pricing team, having previously spent 7 years at Deloitte in Transfer Pricing and Corporate Tax. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, as well as a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and holds a Master's degree in Engineering from Cambridge University.
James advises on all aspects of UK transfer pricing legislation and the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines. This includes devising, documenting and implementing transfer pricing strategies. He also regularly engages with HMRC to support and defend the group's transfer pricing policies.
Whilst currently focused on transfer pricing, James has worked across multiple corporate and indirect tax areas and helps advise businesses on the full range of tax implications of their global operating models.
James has managed many transfer pricing projects including domestic and cross-border dispute resolution; UK, European and global documentation; principal company structures and intellectual property planning. He also has a particular specialism in advising on the transfer pricing and wider tax implications of intra-group financing arrangements.
James’s current and historical clients cover a broad range of industries ranging from large multinational industrial manufacturers to real estate, IT and service businesses, operating on a European and Global scale.
