James Andrews

Director, NM Corp Tax Midlands

KPMG in the UK

James joined KPMG in 2013 as a Senior Manager in the Midlands transfer pricing team, having previously spent 7 years at Deloitte in Transfer Pricing and Corporate Tax. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, as well as a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales; and holds a Master's degree in Engineering from Cambridge University.

  • James advises on all aspects of UK transfer pricing legislation and the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines, which includes devising, documenting and implementing transfer pricing strategies for a number of large multinational groups. He also regularly engages with HMRC to support and defend group transfer pricing policies.
  • In addition, James has managed numerous transfer pricing projects on domestic, pan-European and global levels, providing services to clients that cover areas including (amongst others): successful dispute resolution; implementation of transfer pricing documentation (at local, regional and global levels); and principal company structure and intellectual property planning. He also has a particular specialism in advising on the transfer pricing and wider tax implications of intra-group financing arrangements.
  • He works across a wide variety of sectors, often with multinationals and private equity backed groups, and has worked particularly closely with a number of large automotive, aerospace and machinery manufacturers as well as rapidly-expanding European and global businesses.
  • James’ role on the core RPC team will be to head up our Transfer Pricing offering in the UK – coordinating the input from the KPMG global offices, working closely with Martin Nielsen in our Denmark office (who oversaw the implementation of the Superfos cluster documents) to ensure that the quality and format of documentation is consistent across the board, as well as being primarily responsible for the UK group Masterfile documentation.
