Larysa Antoshchuk delivered a presentation on current trends in tax disputes. She specifically focused on appeal statistics, transfer pricing disputes, practices related to challenging tax invoice blocking, and transactions with non-residents.

Oksana Kochmarska’s presentation was focused on the analysis of judicial practices related to accounting methodology aspects. She outlined the statistics of court decisions related to accounting methodology and core considerations underlying the position of the courts. She specifically pointed out the increased number of judicial decisions made in favor of taxpayers resulting from a detailed and unbiased analysis of taxpayers’ accounting policies based on both Ukrainian GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards. Effective 1 January 2018, financial reporting in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards will become mandatory for large businesses and a number of other entities under Law No. 2164- VIII of 5 October 2017, giving rise to a number of issues in connection with the transition, including development or revision of the accounting policies.
