On 9 November 2017, Yuriy Katser, Director, Head of Legal Services, KPMG in Ukraine, gave the presentation on renewable energy in Ukraine at the Joint Energy Breakfast Seminar.

The event was organized by the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs and the Norwegian- Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (“NUCC”).

Yuriy Katser spoke in detail about foreign investments in the Ukrainian renewable energy market and outlined the major growth trends of renewable energy share. The expert provided overview of the legislative policy and mentioned the "green tariff" and its growth prospects.

Oleksii Riabchyn, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Head of the Energy Saving and Efficiency Subcommittee of the Fuel and Energy, Nuclear Policy, and Nuclear Security Committee, Oleg Prokhorenko, Chairman of the Board, UkrGasVydobuvannya and Anatolii Kyryliuk, Energy Project Manager, NUCC.

"Currently Ukraine has one of the highest green tariff. Starting from 2025, the green tariff will be significantly decreased. However, according to the Report on Promotion of the Use of Energy from Renewable Sources in Ukraine during 2014-2015, share of renewable energy will be 11% by 2020. As a comparison, as at 2017, share of renewable energy is about 4%", - Yuriy Katser commented.
