On 9 November KPMG in Ukraine held a seminar “Important issues for agricultural holding companies”, where a wide range of topics important for agricultural companies was presented at a high professional level.

The seminar started with a welcome from Head of KPMG Agribusiness in Ukraine Alexander Gavriliuk. After that, Nikolay Tsyrkun, Audit Senior Manager, overviewed IFRS 16 “Rent”, and Olena Makarenko, Risk Consulting Senior Manager, gave a presentation on fraud at grain storages and gave recommendations on how to minimise such risks. Further on, Maria Petrova, Transfer Pricing Senior Consultant, explained what a forward contract is and gave advice on how to prepare for TP tax inspections.

The second part of the seminar began with a presentation from Tax & Legal Director Oleg Chayka, dedicated to international taxation and prospects of BEPS implementation in Ukraine. The event also touched upon important legal issues: Anastasia Kolibaba, Tax Dispute Resolution Senior Lawyer, spoke about court cases in agricultural sector and relevant trends in 2016.

The seminar was attended by over 50 representatives of large agricultural companies, and KPMG clients and targets received answers to questions that will help them enhance a range of processes at their enterprises.
