On 14 March the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of the European Business Association (EBA) convened for another meeting– on this occasion further to an invitation from Alina Sevastyuk, COO, Markets, KPMG in Ukraine, the meeting was held at KPMG's office in Kiev.
A video conference was organized as part of the meeting with KPMG's London office – Markus Herz, CSR Environment Manager, KPMG ELLP, delivered a presentation to the Committee's participants from Great Britain. Other speakers at the meeting included Victor Lyakh, head of the EBA Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, and Alina Sevastyuk.
The meeting participants – over 30 members of the Committee and the representatives of Investgazeta and Gvardiya, leading Ukrainian media that regularly report on green issues – shared experience of holding environmental initiatives, in particular the forthcoming Earth Hour to be held on 31 March. The meeting ended with a lottery with a draw for symbolic prizes, for example eco bags.
The guests provided very positive feedback on the event. The next meeting of the EBA Corporate Social Responsibility Committee will be held at Tetra Pak’s office – one might say that KPMG has laid the foundation for a new tradition of offsite meetings of the CSR Committee.
