On 11 July 2014 Law of Ukraine “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Relating to Prevention of Negative Impact on Stability of the Banking System” No. 1586-VII dated 04 July 2014 ("Law No. 1586") entered into force. Provisions of Law No. 1586 are aimed at ensuring stability of the banking system of Ukraine which will be achieved by increasing a minimal amount of the statutory capital of commercial banks, broadening and strengthening of functions and authorities of the National Bank of Ukraine and the Individual Deposits Guarantee Fund.
