Owen Chio is a partner of KPMG Law Firm Taipei Office and the Global Co-Leader of Compliance Practice of KPMG Global Legal Services. Owen’s experience includes advising on (i) cross-border M&As and investments and related corporate/official approvals, (ii) general corporate and commercial matters, (iii) contract negotiation and documentation, (iv) corporate compliance issues, and (v) cross-border commercial disputes. Owen has been involved in some of the most significant deals for major MNCs and state-owned enterprises and acts for many MNCs on a long term basis in their post-acquisition/investment corporate and commercial matters. Owen is a member of the Biotechnology Task Force and the Climate Change & Sustainability Task Force of KPMG. Prior to joining KPMG Law Firm Taipei Office, Owen had been with Baker & McKenzie Taipei Office for 15 years including the last 10 years as a partner therein. Owen also served as a Co-Chair of Corporate Compliance, the Deputy Chair of the Foreign Investment Approval Practice, the Library Partner and the CSR Partner of Baker & McKenzie Taipei Office. Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie Taipei Office, Owen worked for Linklaters Hong Kong Office and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison Hong Kong Office for a number of years before returning to Taiwan.
