Apart from donating to selected charities and foundations and giving a helping hand to the victims of natural disasters, KPMG aims to share its employees’ professional skills, time and care with the community that we live in. In this sense, we collaborate with various NGOs in order to create shared values without putting our self-development apart from the social development.
Acting upon the sense of responsibility with our employees, we provided financial, clothing and supplies support to all the victims of the famine in Somalia in 2011 and of the earthquake in Van in October 2011 through the agency of the Red Crescent in Turkey.
As part of the “New Manager Milestone Event 2012” (NMME), the training program for the newly promoted managers of KPMG, we collaborated with FABİDER (the Association of Differently Developed Individuals) and on 22 November 2012 110 new KPMG managers came together with 110 handicapped students of FABİDER at the painting workshop called “Different Colors on the Canvas”.
The artworks produced by pairs with Freestyle, have been on display at KPMG Istanbul office until the end of year and put on sale. The amount of Money gathered after a sale where KPMG employees showed a great interest, has been donated for the art studio that FABİDER will open for its students.
Mothers of the children with leukemia make a living from the sale of the products which they make thanks to the vocational courses provided by LÖSEV. Since 2012 we set up a LÖSEV booth in our office before the Mother’s Day and KPMG volunteers work at the booth themselves. With this charity activity we get to make valuable contributions to LÖSEV. And we will continue to support LÖSEV in the future as well.
As KPMG Turkey we provide pro-bono audit services to The Disabled Sports Support and Education Foundation Turkey’s “Engelleri Kaldıralım” [Let’s eliminate the disability] campaign since 4 years. Our Audit professionals provide voluntary services for the confirmation of the amount of donations and that the spending is made properly by the Foundation.
