KPMG delegates took part in several sessions and round tables where they discussed the key challenges facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world at large.

18–20 June St. Petersburg hosted the 19th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). It is a leading global business network, attracting over 7,500 international and Russian participants, including government and business leaders as well as leading global voices from academia, the media, and civil society.

KPMG again took active part in SPIEF by delegating several top professionals to the event. John Scott, Deputy Chairman for KPMG International and Chairman for KPMG EMA, has specifically come to Russia to take part in SPIEF. He moderated a panel session, entitled "Dilemmas in Regulatory Reforms for More Effective Land Management", which will discuss effective land management measures to stimulate economic development in the regions and the possibility of land reform in Russia. Moreover, Oleg Goshchansky, Senior Partner, KPMG in Russia and the CIS, spoke in the session "Transcendence of Entrepreneurial Culture: Learning from Success", Vasily Savin, CIS Head of Power & Utilities, took part in the session "Powering Opportunity: Integrating European, Russian and Asian Energy Sectors", Murat Karakas, CIS Head of Turkish Desk, participated in the Russia-Turkey roundtable and Mikhail Orlov, Head of Tax & Legal, spoke in the session "Small- and Medium-Sized business as Russian economy growth driver".

Several events were held on the sidelines, including a roundtable on the Moscow Region development moderated by Oleg Goshchansky, and a Small- and Medium-Sized Business Forum, where Mikhail Orlov, Head of Tax & Legal, spoke at a round table "When Laws are not Obstacles: Protecting Small Business from Administrative Barriers".

Moreover, KPMG representatives commented on a number of industry sessions for the Kommersant FM radio station.
