Around 20 KPMG empoyees handed out food boxes to over 600 labor camp workers during Ramadan
In the spirit of charity during the holy month of Ramadan, around 20 KPMG empoyees handed out food boxes to over 600 labor camp workers on Wednesday, 22 July 2016.
Staff from across the firm’s Audit, Tax and Advisory departments travelled to Qatar Alpha Beton Ready Mix in the Industrial Area (Sanaiya) to distribute the food boxes. Together, the laborers and KPMG’s staff broke the fast after sunset.
Omar Mahmood, KPMG in Qatar’s Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, said, “One of the main principles of Ramadan is to give to charity. KPMG is committed to having a positive impact on the communities in which we live and Ramadan is the perfect time support our community. Helping those less fortunate is a humbling experience. In our every day lives, it is easy to forget the trouble of others. I am very grateful to the staff members who participated and I am proud to belong to a company which firmly believes in helping others and supporting charitable initiatives. “
