On 1 March, the schedule of calls for proposals under the Operational Programme Intelligent Development was updated. The next competitions for funding R&D projects will begin in April. Grants for R&D activities are also directed to companies operating in Special Economic Zones.

Industrial research and experimental development in companies – “Fast track”

Dates of the calls for proposals

According to the published schedule of calls for proposals, during 2016 three competitions are planned, addressed to different categories of enterprises.

Enterprises from the SME sector will be able to apply for funding from 4 April to 29 July 2016. In addition, SMEs carrying out projects outside the Mazowieckie voivodship will be able to apply for support in the third and fourth quarter of 2016.The call for proposals for large enterprises is scheduled between 1 June to 11 July 2016.


Who can apply for support?

All companies can apply for support, during the respective timelines applicable to each category of company (SME or large).


Subject of support

Support will be granted for industrial research and/or development works aimed at producing new or significantly improved technological solutions and products.


Level of support

Level of aid will be between 25 and 80 per cent of eligible costs of the project (depending on the type of R&D and the size of the enterprise).

The budget of competitions aimed at SMEs was set at PLN 750 million. The amount allocated to finance projects implemented by large enterprises will amount to PLN 1 000 million.


Rules for project implementation

In the call announced for the period of 4 April – 29 July 2016, the minimum value of the eligible costs of projects implemented by SMEs amounts to 2 million PLN for projects carried out outside the Mazowieckie voivodship and 5 million PLN for projects carried out in the Mazowieckie voivodship. The minimum value of the eligible costs for large enterprises will be announced on 28 April 2016 (in 2015 it amounted to 12 million PLN).

Date of the call for proposals

The call for proposals will begin on 6 July and will continue until 12 August 2016. The announcement will be published on 6 June 2016.


Who can apply for support?

The aid will be directed only to large enterprises.


Subject of support

Aid will be granted exclusively for activity involving experimental development, taking into account the production demonstration plant.


Level of support

Aid intensity will be between 25 and 40 per cent of eligible costs of the project.

The budget of the competition will amount to PLN 500 million.


Rules for project implementation

The minimum amount of eligible costs of the project will be published in the announcement on 6 June 2016 (in 2015 it was PLN 20 million).


Measure 1.2
Sectoral R&D Programs

According to the published schedule of calls for proposals, the following competitions for R&D projects related to innovative solutions for specific sectors are planned:

INNOTEXTILE – textile industry. Call for proposals: 15 April to 16 May 2016.
Budget: PLN 60 million.

INNOSBZ – unmanned systems. Call for proposals: 10 June to 11 July 2016.
Budget: PLN 50 million.

INNOSTAL – steel sector. Call for proposals: 1 June to 29 June 2016.
Budget: PLN 120 million.

GameINN – computer games sector. Call for proposals: 1 June to 29 June 2016.
Budget: PLN 80 million.

INNOTABOR, INNOMOTO, PBSE, IUSER – solutions related to, among others: railway rolling stock, automotive industry, power sector and intelligent systems for energy generation and management of systems and elements of the energy distributed or disseminated. The calls for proposals are scheduled for the third and fourth quarter of 2016.


Submeasure 4.1.4
Application projects

State aid will be provided for projects involving industrial research and/or experimental development carried out by scientific and industrial consortia. The call for proposals is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016. The planned budget for the competition will be 200 million PLN.
