  • An innovative activation model for unemployed citizens:

A project for a Voivodship Labour Office

A pilot project involving the implementation of solutions based on the British model, where an external operator engages in the activation of long-term unemployed citizens and is remunerated on the basis of a success fee. The pilot project was implemented in six poviats and demonstrated that the solution was effective. The pilot project was instrumental in amending the Act on Employment Promotion.

 

  • Feasibility study for the ‘Intelligent Social Policy’ Programme:

A project for a City Council

The project involved data integration and closer collaboration between multiple administrative units in the city which organise and provide broadly defined social services, such as the Large Family Card, after-school activity centres, social work centres, payment of welfare benefits, educational programmes etc. A new organisational, information and management model was developed to ensure better policies, measure their outcomes and optimise the costs of operation in administrative units of the city.

 

  • Developing and implementing a methodology for project management and portfolio management in a dedicated tool: MS Project 2010:

A project for a public institution engaging in tasks related to social insurance in Poland

  • Implementing unified standards for project management and project portfolio management
  • Minimising the risk of failure for projects and a project portfolio
  • Boosting the efficiency of outlays on project-related initiatives

  • Implementing risk management in IT:

A project for a public institution engaging in tasks related to social insurance in Poland

  • Designing and implementing comprehensive risk management in IT which, in conjunction with the currently implemented projects, will help to achieve the intended goals more efficiently and effectively
  • Reducing the impact of unforeseen and adverse events on IT processes
  • Minimising response time in case of crisis events, thus optimising the resources and improving the efficacy of actions undertaken
 
  • Political science-based analysis of opportunities and threats related to the support that may be extended by various countries to the city as a candidate to organise a major international event:

  • Accumulating knowledge, materials and information to prepare an analysis to build support for Poland and the client’s city when applying for the organisation of EXPO 2022
  • Analysis of member states of the Bureau International des Expositions from the perspective of political science
 
  • Developing a programme to include economic agents and the local community during the application for the right to organise a major international event:

We developed a complete catalogue of stakeholders for each programme and identified actions and tools to achieve the intended goals.

 

  • Support in project management:

A project for a government agency responsible for water management

Client’s conditions and expectations:

  • Improving flood safety and implementing actions required under the law (adapting Polish law to EU legislation) – 3 projects / programmes: an IT-based system to protect the country against extraordinary threats (ISOK) and developing flood risk management plans for catchment areas and water regions (PZRP) and updating Water Management Plans
  • Developing the business rationale and a feasibility study, obtaining funds, selecting contractors
  • Supervision and organisation of project implementation rules
 
  • Studying and analysing progress in the programme entitled ‘New Centre of Łódź’ (NCŁ):

A project for a City Council

Providing advisory services involving the examination and analysis of progress under the programme entitled ‘New Centre of Łódź’ (NCŁ) implemented by the city; presenting an assessment of progress under the Programme in the existing organisational set-up and presenting recommendations concerning work organisation and work management methodology. KPMG studied and analysed projects financed or co-financed by the city which were part of the NCŁ Programme.

 

  • Preparing a concept for developing urban areas around a multimodal transport hub

A project for a City Council

Developing a comprehensive concept involving aspects related to architecture, urban-planning, economic and financial matters, and legislation for the plan to develop an area of 6.5 ha around a new multimodal transport hub (rail, bus and tram transport with a multi-storey parking garage). The project involved a comparative analysis of similar solutions in Europe, preparing a development concept based on demand and supply analysis for various functions of the city area and economic and a legal analysis of specific measures planned (government funding, public-private partnership, private projects).
