  • Grid Assets Management:

A project for one of the largest electricity distributors in Poland

The client sought to enhance its performance and improve its operational results by implementing modern techniques to manage its distribution assets. The assignment emerged as a result of the need to ensure rational management and planning of the grid assets and to streamline business processes. Business processes were analysed for efficiency and their implementation was separated from the organisation.

 

  • Procedure to select the Contract Engineer:

A project for one of the key power plants in Poland

Exercising supervision over the investment with the support of the Contract Engineer during the implementation process: developing the tender dossier in compliance with the Public Procurement Law, and providing legal services during the tender procedure aimed to select the Contract Engineer.

 

  • Studying and analysing progress in the programme entitled ‘New Centre of Łódź’ (NCŁ):

A project for a City Council

Providing advisory services involving the examination and analysis of progress under the programme entitled ‘New Centre of Łódź’ (NCŁ) implemented by the city; presenting an assessment of progress under the Programme in the existing organisational set-up and presenting recommendations concerning work organisation and work management methodology. KPMG studied and analysed projects financed or co-financed by the city which were part of the NCŁ Programme.

A project for a global company engaging in global manufacturing and sales

Risk assessment in the programme and specific projects from the corporate perspective. Application of corporate policies and rules during the investment, ensuring supervision and project management standards, incl.:

  • Implementation of a global programme to construct manufacturing, storage and office facilities (extension of the plant network in the USA, China, Thailand, Singapore, Russia, Turkey and Poland):
    • Risk assessment for the programme and its specific projects from the corporate perspective
    • Application of corporate policies and rules during the investment, ensuring supervision and project management standards
    • Involving internal audit in supervision over the investment
 
  • A review of three selected investment projects

A project for a leader on the Polish chemical market

A review of selected investment projects (production capacity) implemented by the client. Recommendations focused on planning and supervision of the investment process in economic and technical terms, as well as achievement of planned targets.

 

  • Support in project management

A project for a government agency responsible for water management

Client’s conditions and expectations:

  • Improving flood safety and implementing actions required under the law (adapting Polish law to EU legislation) – 3 projects / programmes: an IT-based system to protect the country against extraordinary threats (ISOK) and developing flood risk management plans for catchment areas and water regions (PZRP) and updating Water Management Plans
  • Developing the business rationale and a feasibility study, obtaining funds, selecting contractors
  • Supervision and organisation of project implementation rules
