Syed Najmul Hussain

Hussain has been affiliated with KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co., since 1984, providing audits and advisory services to international and national clients. He is member of KPMG’s Middle East & South Asia (MESA) Advisory Steering Group which covers 17 countries of the region.

Syed Najmul Hasan is well-known in the community of Chartered Accountants in Pakistan and is currently serving aselected member of the Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and remained its Vice President for the term 2014-15. He represents ICAP on number of committees internationally including South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW).

He is also a member of Professional Standards & Technical Advisory Committee of ICAP and is Chairman of two committees of ICAP (i) Committee on Standards for Islamic Financial Institutions and (ii) Education & Training Committee. Hussain is a Corporate Governance Trainer and has remained CPD convener of ICAP as well.

Hussain is a member of Accounting Standard Board of Accounting & Auditing Organization of Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and Task Force for Promotion of Islamic Finance Industry. 

As a partner, Hussain has led numerous advisory and assurance projects internationally and locally, for clients active in sectors such as manufacturing, MNCs, commercial banks, micro-finance institutions, mutual funds, brokerage houses, Islamic banks, power and utility companies, regulatory bodies, etc. He also has experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, working alongside non-financial professionals, in order to deliver technical and tailored services.

He has consulted and advised clients on their financial risk management, corporate investigations, accounting system design, design and implementation of business processes and control systems, strategic business studies, quality assessments, etc.

The in-depth knowledge and multi-disciplinary experience he has gained from his association with the numerous clients about the operations of the companies and the nature of transactions being undertaken coupled with his experience of design and development of operating systems provides him with a strong blend to achieve high standards of quality consultancy and advisory services to KPMG’s clientele.
