KPMG in Pakistan
Ali is the Director of KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice and has over 12 years experience with KPMG including 6+years of managing due diligence and valuation engagements including financial feasibilities, business plans, valuations both in Pakistan and Kuwait.
Ali has worked on various power related transactions, some of his major experiences include advisory services to Saif Power in relation to a 225MW combined cycle power plant, Warda Investment LLC in connection with a 175MW RFO based power plant, NBT Pakistan Holding, Al-Jomaih Holding for due diligence of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation and Malakoff International Limited in relation to 600MW wind farms in Sindh.
Ali has been involved in a number of valuation engagements including that of Mandviwalla Entertainment, Al Watani Bank (Egypt) for National Bank of Kuwait, valuation of intangibles including that of Prime Commercial Bank Ltd for ABN AMRO NV, valuation of intangibles of purchase price allocation and valuation of identifiable intangible assets of RBS Pakistan for Faysal Bank, valuation of KASB Group, valuation of ICI Pakistan for Lucky Cement, and many other related engagements.
Ali has also been involved as a team leader in a number of financial due diligence engagements including that of Gulf Financial Brokerage for EFG Hermes, Saudi Pak Commercial Bank Limited for a consortium comprising of Sinthos Capital Holdings Limited, Nomura International Plc, International Finance Corporation and Bank Muscat SAOG, Crescent Commercial Bank Limited for Samba Financial Group, Acted as the Lead Coordinator for the four data rooms of all PICIC entities.
Ali carried out a 2 year secondment (2008-9) in the Financial Services practice of KPMG Kuwait during which he worked on various assignments for international clients. His main area of expertise includes financial services, asset management, oil & gas and logistics industries in Pakistan. He has attended various international trainings including KPMG’s accreditation trainings for Transaction Services level 1 and 2 and Advanced Valuation and other trainings in UAE, Sri Lanka and Kuwait.
