Globally, the pace of urbanization is unprecedented. This trend is expected to continue, with nearly 66% of the world’s population predicted to be based in cities by 2050.
The ability to effectively and efficiently manage rapid urbanization is critical. Cities will need to significantly increase the efficiency of existing and new infrastructure and services to meet unprecedented future demand. This will require a step change in the delivery of integrated services through smart usage of policy, technology and infrastructure.
In this report, produced in conjunction with KPMG's Global Cities Centre of Excellence, we highlight how Dubai can learn from other smart city initiatives.
