White Camellia Award

The While Camelia Awards are designed to showcase gender equality in the workplace, and those organisations that are taking positive steps to ensure New Zealand workplaces are fair and equal and offer the opportunity to succeed. Now in their 5th year, they acknowledge organisations that have made progress in implementing the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).

KPMG was the winner of the WEPS Principle 2: Treat all women and men fairly at work - respect and support human rights and non-discrimination.

This is the first time KPMG have entered the White Camelia Awards and so we are really pleased to be recognised for the progress we’ve made in a number of areas including our:

  • Family@KPMG policy which brings together a range of initiatives to support you through stages of family journey
  • Flex@KPMG policy which encourages flexible working wherever possible
  • Pay equity reviews
  • And many others

The calibre of work towards gender equality carried out by participants in the White Camellia Awards made judging hard,” says judge and EEO Commissioner, Dr Jackie Blue.

The five organisations who make up the NZ WEPs Committee are: UN Women National Committee Aotearoa New Zealand, NZ Federation of Business & Professional Women, Human Rights Commission, Diversity Works NZ and Zonta International District 16.
