The combined Timaru team strengthens the overall KPMG presence in Canterbury with offices in Christchurch, Ashburton and Timaru.

Pivot’s Tracy Tierney and Glenn Black will join KPMG as Directors and bring seven other members of their team with them. Tracy says, “I’m passionate about the Canterbury economy thriving. Our team enjoys the opportunity to work alongside businesses to ensure they are better positioned for future development and growth.”

Christchurch KPMG Partner Andrew Hawkes commented, "Pivot Accounting’s collaborative, forward-thinking and service-orientated approach makes the team an ideal fit with KPMG’s values."

The merger reinforces KPMG’s commitment to growing capability in the South Canterbury private business space. Pivot have always set out to help their clients create future stories which complements the focus that KPMG has on fuelling prosperity for all New Zealanders.

Tracy and Glenn are well-known and active in the local Timaru community, supporting both businesses and charitable trusts. As well as being a District Councillor, Tracy is a member of the Institute of Directors. Glenn is involved in a variety of local sports administration and is chair of the Timaru Mental Health Support Trust.

Pivot’s Stephen McFarlane will work closely with KPMG on a consulting basis. KPMG’s current Timaru team headed by Brent Love will continue to share an office and maintain its strategic relationship with Ross Wells. The combined KPMG team will move into new premises on the Terrace, Timaru, in early 2016.

The Pivot team is enthusiastic about the opportunities for their clients as part of KPMG, the leading provider of professional services in the Canterbury region. Tracy believes “The merger with KPMG provides an opportunity to bring additional specialist skills to clients we have a close relationship with.”

The merger will provide an opportunity for the expanded KPMG team to further enhance their professional skills and career opportunities while enjoying all the benefits of the South Canterbury life style.
