KPMG in New Zealand

Mike leads KPMG’s Forensic team and has over 20 years’ experience in Forensic matters, whether providing expert evidence for disputes, investigating fraud and misconduct, advising on money laundering and financial crime, or helping clients with eDiscovery exercises for litigation matters.  The KPMG Forensic team comprises specialists with a diverse set of backgrounds, including forensic accountants, investigators, financial crime experts and those who can provide technology services to help obtain and analyse evidence and data.

In Mike’s world, engagements are varied, and Mike applies insights from his experience across a variety of client challenges to identify the most appropriate avenues of enquiry and seek out the most appropriate KPMG skillsets, whether from the Forensic Team or more broadly across the firm.  Mike quickly builds trust with his clients, which helps to provide peace of mind in what are often challenging, stressful situations.

Mike has provided expert evidence for the courts and in other dispute resolution forums such as mediation, arbitration and expert determinations, both in New Zealand and overseas.  He is a Chartered Accountant, a member of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ), holds a Certificate of Public Practice and was previously the Chair of the CAANZ Forensic Accounting Special Interest Group.  Mike is a contributing member of the Auckland District Law Society, a member of the Auckland branch of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.  Mike has provided training on expert witness for litigators, business valuations, assessments of loss and other related topics to accountants and lawyers.
