National communities involvement

At KPMG, we are committed to fuelling New Zealand’s prosperity, not only for our clients but also our communities.

We are committed to fuelling New Zealand’s prosperity for our clients & our communities.

We have a national community strategy supported locally by our National Communities Team.

KPMG is a fundraising partner and supporter of KidsCan. As a conduit between community, businesses, government and schools, KidsCan help feed and clothe some of the one in four New Zealand children (that's 260,000) who live in poverty, going without the basics most of us take for granted.

Today KidsCan supports over 15,000 children a week who experience food insecurity. Their tangible programmes, Food for Kids, Shoes for Kids, Raincoats for Kids and Health for Kids concentrate on giving the basics directly to children in need in partnership with the schools they attend, in order to achieve higher educational outcomes. Along with probono Tax and IT Advisory services we are working with KidsCan on volunteering projects, fundraising and capacity building. John Kensington, an Auckland Audit partner, is a long-standing KidsCan Trustee and passionate advocate for their work.

Inspiring Stories Trust

Inspiring Stories operates nationwide with the vision to see every young New Zealander unleash their potential to change the world. Since launching in 2011, the organisation has built an impressive track record of programmes and partnerships that build capability and confidence amongst young people to realise this vision. These programmes include the national event, Festival for the Future, and the summer accelerator programme designed to grow young social entrepreneurs and their ventures, Live the Dream. CEO and Founder of Inspiring Stories, Guy Ryan, was recently named the 2015 Young New Zealander of the Year.

KPMG has proudly partnered with Inspiring Stories to host a range of events, has been a sponsor of Festival for the Future since 2013, and supported staff involvement as mentors and workshop facilitators throughout Live the Dream. Adrian Wimmers, a KPMG Wellington Advisory Partner is a proud member of the Inspiring Stories Board of Trustees. We love working with the dynamic team at Inspiring Stories, challenging and supporting ideas for the future, and being connected with New Zealand's future leaders!
