Maral is a Senior Associate to the Corporate Intelligence and Forensic Services teams. She works on Integrity Due Diligence reports, strategic intelligence in high growth markets, political and security risk assessments, development of KPMG's Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) capabilities, and is part of the Iran task force.
Maral has conducted research and analysis on security-related projects at Stanford University, the Peace Research Institute Oslo, the Norwegian Centre for Humanitarian Studies, and the Research School on Peace and Conflict, and has interned at the United Nations Development Programme and the Norwegian Embassy in Kathmandu.
She has an academic background in international relations and political science and expertise in security politics. Her research interests include nuclear weapons policy, disarmament and nonproliferation; law of armed conflict (LOAC) and ethics in warfare; emerging technologies and autonomous weapons systems; and surveillance, privacy, and data protection.
