Effective September 1, 2017, Harry van Dorenmalen and René Steenvoorden will join the Supervisory Board of KPMG N.V.
Harry van Dorenmalen (1955) has worked at IBM Corporation for 35 years. Between 2005 and 2017, he held the position of Managing Director IBM the Netherlands and director of IBM Benelux. In the years 2010 to 2017, he also held the positions of Vice Chairman and Chairman of IBM Europe. In his long career with IBM, Mr. Van Dorenmalen has built up extensive expertise in the fields of business development, transformation, information technology and marketing & communication. In addition to his management tasks, he is involved in numerous economic and social initiatives. For instance, he was appointed chairman of the TopTeam Sport (Sport innovator) by the Dutch Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport, he is chairman of the IT committee set up by the VNO employers’ organization and he is a member of the Amsterdam Economic Board. He is also an active promoter of diversity in business. In recognition of his social and international efforts, in March 2017 Mr. Van Dorenmalen was made an Officer in the Order of Oranje Nassau.
René Steenvoorden (1967) is Global Chief Digital Officer and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Randstad. Prior to joining Randstad, he was CIO at Rabobank and Essent and IT Group manager at Procter & Gamble. Prior to this, Mr. Steenvoorden was engagement manager at McKinsey & Company. At Randstad, he is responsible for the company’s global IT strategy and for drawing up and execution of a global digital strategy aimed at accelerated innovation and client services. He was a member of the launch team of the Dutch national Cyber Security Council, the advisory body for the Dutch government. His current positions include membership of the ECP Advisory Board, which acts as a public-private platform for the promotion of the information society and he is a guest lecturer for the Nyenrode Business University’s Supervisory Director Program.
