KPMG in Malaysia
Michelle has over 10 years of tax experience in individual, corporate tax compliance and indirect tax experience. She currently serves as a Tax Manager in KPMG in Malaysia’s Indirect Tax Practice (Customs and Trade). Prior to joining KPMG, she was attached to Indirect Tax, Group Tax Division in one of the Malaysia public listed company leading in automotive industry for more than 5 years. She has been assigned to projects / activities providing internal tax support and advice to the Group Accountants and she has also been involved in numerous tax audits and health checks assignments in businesses across Indo-China.
Michelle’s tax experience includes Malaysian corporate and indirect tax advisory, tax planning work including mergers and acquisition and cross border transactions (both inbound and outbound). In the area of training, Michelle regularly conducts in-house training courses relating to indirect tax matters and other customs related topics to the Group Accountants, Senior Management and within indirect tax department.
Professional and Industry Experience
Her main area of specialization is in the area of customs and trade related issues including free trade agreements, customs valuation, product classification, market entry analysis, customs audit and health check, licensing and import / export restrictions, amongst others.
