He also served as President of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners.
In a message to all staff of KPMG in Malta, Joseph Schembri stated “I believe that the firm will be in excellent hands under Tonio’s leadership leading to further growth and success both in the short and longer term.”
Commenting on his election Tonio Zarb, said “It is indeed an honour to be selected to succeed Joseph as Senior Partner. Under his leadership, our firm has built a reputation for client service and quality which is second to none. The firm includes many outstanding professionals working for the benefit of our clients. Going forward we remain committed to providing valued services to our clients and rewarding careers to our people.” “Joseph has served the firm with dedication, professionalism and integrity. Over the years he has mentored many professionals and it is not surprising that he is viewed by many as a father figure within the firm. During his years of tenure as Senior partner the firm has grown five-fold and is recognised as a leading provider of professional services in Malta”
