KPMG Luxembourg sees six promotions to Partner level; alongside never-before-seen numbers of technology recruits

Luxembourg, 1 October 2018
KPMG Luxembourg today announced six promotions to Partner. Sophie Boulanger, Said Fihri, Emilien Lebas, Jürgen Rieder, Olivier Schneider and Yves Thorn have taken on the new role as of today, 1 October.

In addition to the six new Partners, this year’s leadership nominations also include seven promotions to the Associate Partner and Director level. Muhammad Azeem, Alexander Blug, Philippe Bovy, Oliver Collmann, Jean Kizito, Marko Koerner and Ruslan Tumanshin also assume their new functions starting today.

Philippe Meyer, Managing Partner, explained: “The path to Partner is unique for each individual, and the cohort joining our Partner group today brings a richness and diversity of experience that reflects the ever-growing and flourishing nature of our firm. Whether the individual brings a passion for technology, a thirst for innovation, or a phenomenal level of understanding of complex topics: each adds their own secret sauce to the KPMG mix. These talented individuals have sought and won the trust of our communities, helping further our ambition to be the Clear Choice. I am proud of their achievements, and delighted to welcome them to the Partner group.”

The firm will be introducing the new Partners in a short video released online today.

Promotions in 2018 and rise in technology-driven profiles
This year saw a total of 390 people promoted, roughly one-quarter of evaluated staff. This directly reflects the firm’s ambition to be an “architect of the future” as it continues to invest in new profiles with strong capabilities in technology.

KPMG Luxembourg’s Head of People, Thierry Ravasio, commented: “Our investment in technology and technology-driven profiles is starting to pay-off. The promotions this year reflect the talent in our business and the growing demand for our technology-related services. Our People are shaping their own career paths with true intrapreneurial spirit, as they see the firm as truly innovative. We are proud to see such passion and diversity in the insight and expertise of our people which is aligned with the People strategy we’ve developed.”

KPMG Luxembourg currently has over 1,700 staff. Nearly a hundred of the new hires in FY2018 alone have a purely technological profile, a number never reached before.
