Jeong Wook joined KPMG Samjong Accounting Corp. (KPMG Korea) as a tax partner in October 2011. Before joining KPMG Korea, he worked for Kim & Chang, a law firm in Korea from 1997 to 2011, and Samil Accounting Corp. (currently PwC Korea) from 1991 to 1997.
He has provided services for Korean and multinational companies in various tax areas including tax audit assistance, tax disputes and general tax consulting, among others. In particular, he has extensive experience in international tax matters such as transfer pricing analysis, advance pricing agreement (APA), competent authority proceedings, permanent establishment issues, tax withholding and treaty interpretation issues.
His representative work includes, providing assistance for court litigation in support of a major multinational pharmaceutical company’s transfer pricing issue (Supreme Court case, 2007); assisting major multinational pharmaceutical and IT companies in tax audits and appeal cases; assisting clients in unilateral and bilateral APA cases and competent authorities proceedings, among others.
