A pilot, scholar, consultant and entrepreneur all wrapped up in one, Dr George Manu has spent 30 years in industry, academia and the United Nations and carried out specialist assignments in over 50 countries across 4 continents.
George heads the IDAS business unit in KPMG East Africa. He is also the Engagement Partner/Team Leader for a number of projects and assignments in the region including the Remittance Grant Facility, a pioneering programme in its approach to fostering innovations in remittances in Ghana, and the Sierra Leone Agribusiness Development Fund.
George has served on the Boards of several organisations including a venture fund management company, an investment climate facility, a privatisation agency, an international journal on enterprise development and microfinance and a ministerial advisory council. He is no stranger to enterprise risk having run his own business, served as head of SME Development with the International Labour Organization Turin Centre in Italy and as CEO of EMPRETEC Ghana Foundation.
George remains excited about the power and potential of the private sector to deliver positive change, grow economies and fight poverty. He has great ambitions for the transformation of Africa to achieve the potential it actually has. “I wake up every day determined, through my work and indeed life, to serve as a role model, make a positive impact on society and transform lives.”
