Is Jamaica ready for transfer pricing rules?
The long-awaited transfer pricing legislation was tabled in the House of Parliament last week. In this era of tax reform in Jamaica, this new legislation may represent the most ambitious effort yet. It introduces new ways of thinking about tax, economics, self-dealing, and business strategies in an ever-changing global environment. It also is a step into the unknown in terms of ability to comply (even with the best of intentions) on the part of both the taxpayers and the tax administration.
