The seminar will provide you with further insights into the relevant changes to IFRS as well as guidance and practical application in preparing for these standards. It will also cover proposed changes to standards by the IASB.

The topics to be covered include:

  • IFRS 15     Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • IFRS 9       Financial Instruments
  • IFRS 16     Leases 
  • IFRS 17  - Insurance Contracts
  • Annual Improvements

Although not IFRS related, we will also provide an overview on Cyber Security.



Chris Brundrett, CPA, GAAP Seminars

Chris is an independent professional training consultant and specialises in delivering IFRS and U.S. GAAP programmes to accounting professionals around the world.

Prior to joining GAAP Seminars, Chris was a Senior Manager with KPMG LLP where he spent nine years and served a variety of clients, predominately in the Energy and Financial Services industries.

Chris has significant experience with SEC reporting matters, initial public offerings, as well as a variety of other industry specific accounting matters.
Chris is a U.S. CPA and holds a BS in Accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is based in Roanoke, Virginia, USA




Cynthia Lawrence, Partner in-Charge of KPMG in Jamaica’s IFRS Advisory practice.

Cynthia is an Audit Partner with over 30 years’ experience in the accountancy profession.  An accredited IFRS Reviewer, she is Partner In-Charge of KPMG in Jamaica’s IFRS advisory practice.

Cynthia has extensive experience in the audits of statutory bodies, financial institutions, and consumer products and services entities.

She is the firm’s Head of Audit, and serves as a member of the Accounting Standards Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.



Shawn Christie, Director –KPMG in Jamaica’s Advisory practice.

Shawn has over 21 years of experience in Information Technology advisory services.  Her work in information risk management includes general IT and application controls reviews, information risk management benchmarking, and supporting the financial statements audit process. In 2000, she was the lead consultant in an engagement to define the functional requirements for an integrated applicants processing, claims management and accounting system for Blue Cross of Jamaica Limited. Shawn also serves as the firm’s National Information Technology Security Officer and foremost resident authority on large billing systems.
