Rupendra was part of the team of partners who established KPMG in India’s operations in 1993-94. He served as the Head of Audit and, later, as the Chief Operating Officer in India. He also set-up and led the firm's Forensic and Business Ethics practices. He retired as the non-executive Chairman of the firm in September 2008. He is also a former member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Rupendra now runs the firm’s Citizenship agenda, which focuses on Advancing sustainability, Lifelong learning and Inclusive development.
