KPMG in India

Rupendra was part of the team of partners who established KPMG in India’s operations in 1993-94. He served as the Head of Audit and, later, as the Chief Operating Officer in India. He also set-up and led the firm's Forensic and Business Ethics practices. He retired as the non-executive Chairman of the firm in September 2008. He is also a former member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Rupendra now runs the firm’s Citizenship agenda, which focuses on Advancing sustainability, Lifelong learning and Inclusive development.

  • Served on the Board of Governors of the local chapters of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Institute of Internal Auditors

  • Former member of the National Advisory Board of Enactus in India, a non-government organisation with a focus on youth leadership

  • Former trustee (and Chair of the Audit Committee) on the Board of The Prince’s Youth Business International (YBI) in London, which is a charity established by The Prince of Wales, with a focus on young entrepreneurs.
