With a career spanning over 30 years, Naresh has been associated with the firm for over 22 years. Having joined KPMG in India in 1994, he has gained extensive tax and regulatory experience across a wide variety of enterprises, both large and small. He has also worked with KPMG in Australia for a period of two years, and has extensive experience in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in serving multinational clients, investing or conducting business in the region. He also serves as a member of the KPMG India Tax Executive Committee.
He has also worked across various segments of the financial services sector, including investment management and alternative investment funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs), banking, insurance, Non -Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs), housing finance, asset management, wealth management, primary dealers, broker-dealer and investment banking.
Areas of expertise
Market entry and exit approaches, obtaining licensing approvals from financial regulatory bodies (Reserve Bank of India, the Securities and Exchange Board of India, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority and the National Housing Board), capital and investment structuring, domestic and international taxation, cross-border taxation, funds advisory, structured finance, due diligence, drafting joint venture and related agreements, tax planning, representation before the appellate authorities, and consultation regarding company law, insurance law, central banking regulations, as well as exchange management regulations in India.
