KPMG in the Isle of Man
Jonathan Cretney began his work with a Big Four firm in 1999 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002. During 10 years with this firm Jonathan also spent 3 years working in the United States gaining experience in US GAAP and GAAS. Working in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Texas Jonathan focused on alternative investment audits which included leading the audit of one of the world’s largest asset managers. Jonathan also gained experience auditing SEC clients with Sarbanes Oxley reporting requirements. Upon returning to the Isle of Man Jonathan was promoted to audit manager where he continued developing his expertise and knowledge in the Financial Services Sector before moving to work for the Isle of Man Government in 2010 for 4 years. After leaving the Isle of Man Government in January 2014 Jonathan joined KPMG where he, as well as managing external audit clients, is also responsible for leading the Internal Audit department, which provides Internal Audit services to clients. Jonathan’s role extends further as he is also the Compliance Manger, being responsible for assisting clients with their regulatory reporting responsibilities.
