The MSc in Aviation Finance aims to advance students understanding of all aspects of aviation finance, with a particular focus on the practical features of global aviation markets. KPMG in Ireland has been at the heart of the sector for over three decades and will provide practical insight and experience to participants over the duration of the course.

Commenting on the launch, Tom Woods, Partner and Head of Aviation Finance and Leasing said: “The aircraft leasing story is not a very well-known story in Ireland but it is one of the country’s greatest success stories. The industry has expanded considerably over the last 30 years with lessors now providing over $50 billion in aviation finance a year, most of whom are based in Ireland. The ability to attract and retain smart, energised people is key to the success of the industry in Ireland and this course responds to an important market need.”

Speaking about the course benefits, Patrick Blaney, course leader of the MSc in Aviation Finance added: “The success of any Masters programme is driven by its intellectual content and the career opportunities it creates. UCD Smurfit School’s MSc in Aviation Finance is suitable for graduates from a wide variety of disciplines including business, economics, finance, engineering and science who want to pursue a career in the highly dynamic sector of Aviation Finance & Leasing. We have had significant interest in the programme from overseas graduates, in particular from Hong Kong, Singapore and China, who recognise the unique opportunity to gain specialist knowledge of the principles of Aircraft and Corporate Finance activities direct from Industry Leaders.”
