Going for Growth has successfully concluded its 9th cycle with almost 80 participants completing the programme in 2017. To date, over 200 female entrepreneurs have participated in the initiative since it commenced in 2009. Watch the highlights from this year’s closing event below.

Olivia Lynch, Partner at KPMG in Ireland comments: “Going for Growth is a highly successful programme which provides a unique peer learning environment for female entrepreneurs. It’s about supporting entrepreneurs, family businesses and fast-growing companies as they strive for growth and we are delighted to able to contribute to that effort.”

Unique support

Going for Growth is designed to be action and results-oriented and goes beyond traditional, classroom style learning. Participants are offered a unique learning environment with a peer-led approach based on the shared experiences of a Lead Entrepreneur and other participants facing common challenges.

Paula Fitzsimons, National Director of Going for Growth says: “Our mission in Going for Growth is to support female entrepreneurs to achieve their growth ambitions and to get more female owner managers into a growth frame of mind. I am delighted to say that we are doing just that through a focus on growth goals, peer support and the sharing of experiences in a collaborative and confidential environment.”

Business success

Over 200 women entrepreneurs have already participated in a cycle of Going for Growth. Besides an increase in confidence, ambition and motivation, most of the participants (75%) in the 8th cycle of Going for Growth (2016) increased their turnover over the six months of the cycle by an average of 33%, bringing the turnover of the group to over €33.2 million. There was a 43% increase in the number of exporters among the group. An additional 70 jobs were created by participants (+17%), while 415 existing jobs were strengthened.
